Homestay in Christchurch

STAY WITH US

Would you like to truly experience the typical life of a Kiwi Local? A homestay in Christchurch offers the homely comforts with the amenities you need. It’s great if this is your first visit to New Zealand, or if you love spending time with the locals, as a seasoned traveller. What’s more is that we are an experienced family host, with a wealth of information and tips to share to make your homestay Christchurch experience even more memorable. We speak both English and Japanese fluently.

Our cosy, traditional home is set on a 650 square meter piece of land. We have 3 bedrooms with an ensuite double room – equipped with all the amenities a traveller, such as yourself, would need. You have the option to enjoy cooked meals with vegetables harvested from our organic vegetable and herb garden or glasshouse. Enjoy your meals in our sunroom with garden view. To our guests delight, Keiko has a Japanese chef’s licence. Wake up to fresh coffee or enjoy a pot of tea with your breakfast in our conservatory area, which overlooks our beautiful green garden.

See what our guests had to say

“The owner operator, Craig, worked with us to arrange sightseeing activities, doing the calling to get tickets, preparing breakfast and driving us around. His place is a real house, not a luxury hotel, so you feel like you’re staying with a good friend. He is also very knowledgeable about history, geography and the many activities possible around Christchurch. We learned a lot about New Zealand just chatting with him. The property has nice gardening, is located in a middle-class neighbourhood and a nice walk to the shops for meals and shopping. It is also near a bus stop for getting downtown.”

  1. Hi Craig,
It looks like you have a fantastic home for visitors to stay in. I have just started a guided hiking business based in Christchurch. The trips are all in the Canterbury area and include day and overnight trips for those who like to experience the beautiful Canterbury landscape. Please have a look at my site for more info. I was wondering if we could support each other, I can recommend your home for clients who are enquiring about their Christchurch trip and you could recommend my hiking expeditions for your more active visitors.
Please let me know if you see a possibility here. You’re welcome to email or call me and ask further questions about Roaming Guides.
    Regards,
    Anna

    • Sorry to have been so slow in getting back to you with regards to your inquiry.
I am always happy to work in with other folk involved in showing others our brilliant part of the South Island.
I am currently up in Japan for a few weeks but more than happy to get in touch with you when we return and see if and how we can work in together.
