Across all of my Christchurch Day Tours my Christchurch garden tour is one of my most popular tour and lets me show you why Christchurch Is called “The Garden City”. I will personally show you through three private gardens – including an award winning garden. On the way you will meet the gardeners who design and grow these beautiful creations. Enjoy the award winning factory garden and street award winners and view the most attractive park in Christchurch. Changes dependent on seasons.
Time required 3.5 hours. 4.5 hours with lunch option.

With one eighth of our city given over to parks and gardens, greenery is abundant in our city… We grizzle about our city taxes, but I reckon we are very, very lucky to live in such an environment. Personally I love Spring, and October is just a blaze of blossom as the new Spring leaves herald the end of Winter. From the flowering of the daffodils in late August to the blooming of the Roses in mid November we have a constant array of blooms from Cherries, Magnolias, Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Wisteria to enchant our visitors.
In addition to the shorter “Christchurch garden tour” I am able to arrange visits to much larger scale gardens out in the country. These again can be tailored to suit your individual schedule however if we include lunch you really need to allow 6- 8 hours to do them justice.
Please email me and I am more than happy to send you a pdf of my country garden model course.
Furthermore in the Spring and early Summer many of the local schools have fundraisers around the most attractive gardens in their area. This is a great way to see a much wider selection of gardens in a very local area. These are only conducted on Saturdays and usually from late October through till early December.
If you are travelling around in your own rental car you may like to make use of this excellent site to explore some wonderful gardens outside of Christchurch city itself – www.gardenstovisit.co.nz
